Cross Country Screaming Eagle Invitational

Toccoa Falls, Georgia—The Women's and Men's Cross Country teams held their annual TFC Screaming Eagle Invitational on Saturday. The Invitational involved eight visiting teams. This was the last meet for the Screaming Eagles before they are off to race in the National Meet on November 12th in Clinton, MS.

The Women' race featured six strong teams. The Screaming Eagles were able to race well on their home course, and finish fifth out of the six teams. Jamie Smith (SR/Toccoa, GA) set her season best time, as she finished fourth overall, with the time of 20:36. Mackenzie Murley (JR/Toccoa, GA) came in tenth place overall, and also set her season best time, with the time of 21:22. Jessie Smith (SO/Toccoa, GA) finished with a time of 23:29. Amber Dennis (SO/Mineral Springs, NC) came in with the time of 26:04. Mindy Cooperrider (SR/Ashland, OH) came in with a time of 26:12.

The home course advantage paid off for each on the Men' team, as they all were able to set their season best times. Stephen King (FR/Clayton, GA) led all TFC runners, with the time of 28:48. Timothy Sestak (SR/Grove City, PA) was not far behind King, as he had a time of 29:49. Thomas Totherow (SO/Dalton, GA) came in with the time of 31:03. Mitchell Thomas (SR/Juliette, GA) had the time of 31:59. Jonathan Milano (FR/Waterloo, IA) had the time of 33:56. Joshua Estes (FR/Gwinnett, GA), who is still fighting an injury, finished with the time of 39:55. The Men finished the race in fifth place out of five teams.

The Screaming Eagles will continue preparing for the NCCAA DII National Meet that is just twelve short days away. Good luck to the men and women in the rest of their season!
