Lady Eagles Fall Short in Season Finale Against NCCAA D1 Clinton College, Set Sights on Regionals
The Toccoa Falls Women’s Basketball team put on a dominant performance against NCCAA DI Clinton College, controlling the game from the start. However, despite their strong efforts, the Lady Eagles fell just short in the 4th quarter, losing by a heartbreaking one-point margin, 64-65.
Facing a higher-division opponent, the Lady Eagles showed resilience and skill. The junior Latyah Barber led the charge with an outstanding performance, scoring 24 points while adding 7 rebounds and an impressive 8 steals. The senior, Emma Berry, also had a strong game, contributing 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. The sophomore Jada Wood was a force on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds—11 of them defensive—helping limit Clinton College’s second-chance opportunities.
The Lady Eagles close out the regular season with a 13-12 record and currently hold the #5 spot in the NCCAA DII Coaches Poll. With momentum on their side, they now shift their focus to the upcoming Regionals, set to take place from February 27th to March 1st at Bob Jones University.
With a strong season behind them, the Lady Eagles are ready to compete at the next level and make a statement in the tournament.
