Toccoa Falls College golf has officially finished its inaugural season, led by Coach David Beddingfield. The men?s and women?s teams faced their first challenges in September, gaining valuable experience and showing potential for future growth.
The women?s team was represented by Clair Clark, TFC's lone female golfer, at the tournament held at Prince Golf Course in St. Simon's Island on September 9 and 10. Day one displayed wet conditions and a few nerves, but Clair fought through, determined to improve. On day two, she faced high winds, yet managed to knock 15 strokes off her first-round score. Coach Beddingfield was impressed with her resilience, saying, "For her first collegiate golf tournament, I was really proud of how Clair handled herself, and we are looking for great things to come."
On the men?s side, the team competed in their regional tournament on September 23 and 24, finishing fourth. Though the result wasn?t what they hoped for, the experience was invaluable. Dakota Chavis led the way with scores of 79 and 78, the team?s best performance of the tournament. Coach Beddingfield emphasized the team?s determination to improve, saying, ?We have some work to do, but the guys are putting in the effort. I was proud of how they handled themselves on and off the course. We are a young team, and we are learning when to be aggressive and when not to be. I?m really proud of the guys.?
With a young team full of potential, Coach Beddingfield and Toccoa Falls College golf are eager to continue building momentum and achieving success into their second season.
