Toccoa Falls, Georgia—The TFC Screaming Eagles played host for the NCCAA South Regional Tournament. Emmanuel College, Trinity Baptist College, and Selma College made their way to campus for the double-elimination tournament, with the winner of the tournament earning an automatic bid to the National Tournament in Mason, Ohio.
In the first game of the tournament, the Screaming Eagles played Trinity Baptist College. The game was decided early, as Austin Shea (JR/Cumming, GA) pitched the full game, earning the win in an 11-2 affair. The Screaming Eagles had 12 hits in the game, with Bruce Wilkinson (FR/Lexington, SC), Nathan Stanley (SR/Lake Placid, FL), Jesse Thomas (SO/Lavonia, GA), and Landon McClane (FR/Seneca, SC) collecting multiple hits in the win.
Moving on in the winner's bracket, TFC played the top-ranked Emmanuel College. Emmanuel came out and took an early lead, never looking back as they secured a 14-3 victory over the Screaming Eagles. Justin Skinner (JR/Knoxville, GA) was on the mound for the Screaming Eagles, earning the loss.
In the third, and eventually final game of the tournament for the Screaming Eagles, TFC faced Trinity Baptist College once again. This game was a back and forth affair for both teams. Trinity Baptist was able to come out on top in this one, with the score of 10-7. This loss knocked TFC out of the tournament.
Head Coach Jeff Mullikin finished his first year at the helm, stating, "I am proud of the way our season ended for our seniors. In our elimination game, we never gave up and we battled. It was a true testimony to the heart and character of our senior leaders."
Emmanuel College went on to win the NCCAA South Regional Championship game against Trinity Baptist College, securing their ticket to the national tournament in Mason, Ohio.
