Toccoa Falls College took the lead late in the game against Truett-McConnell University in an 11-8 victory.
TMU was able to score two runs in the bottom of the first inning. But TFC's bats exploded in the top of the second scoring five runs. The second inning was driven by a single hit by Austin Rapier (FR/Madison, GA), a single by Eric Lusk along with a stolen base. In the top of the third TFC scored two runs. Brandon Tamayo (FR/Lexington, SC) singled on a ground ball to right field scoring Jesse Thomas (SO/Lavonia, GA), and Erick Lusk singled on a line drive to right field scoring Austin Rapier. The game was all tied going into the top of the ninth when Toccoa Falls College's Josh Slate (JR/Toccoa, GA) doubled off of Caleb Jameson, driving in three runs.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as TFC collected 17 hits and TMU captured 10. Landon McLane took the win for the Screaming Eagles as he pitched a shutout in the last two innings not allowing a run or a hit while striking out one.
The TFC Screaming Eagles hit the road against Hiwassee College on Friday at 1:00PM EST.
